The days before Christmas

20121225-020645.jpgThe days before Christmas always tend to be very busy ones. There are the obvious parties being thrown by friends, the company I work for and such. There is often the late Christmas shopping that needs to be done. Apart from that, there always pops up the weekend before and I need to catch up with my blogging as well. To fit this all into four days is hard enough as it is. Now today I had to fit in working, a Christmas party and attending a birthday party as well. Challenging really! Continue reading

The big 25 part II

urlNormally, I have a glorious morning after hangover when I celebrate my birthday with friends. Not yesterday, because I knew there would be a lot more family and friends coming over on Saturday. So to enjoy that day, I thought it would be best to wake up sober and without having to cope with a hangover. Therefore I hold my liquor a little. After all, I don’t need to be drunk to have a good time. So I was up for another day. Continue reading

The big 25 part I

BFF-Beer-Friends-ForeverReaching the age of 21 actually means you have grown an adult and responsible for everything you do. It’s often an age that is celebrated with big parties, but to me, reaching the age of 25 feels really like growing up. Yes, this weekend I reach my mid-twenties and somehow I feel like expectations shifted. Then again, that will be food for another blog. Right now I just like to share some stories and thoughts of my birthday weekend! Continue reading

To have or not to have a car-kit

motorola_roadster_tz700_bluetooth_portable_visor_car_kit_4With my twenty-fifth birthday coming up this weekend, my parents have been asking me what present I would like. Well, since I don’t have the best car kit for my telephone, I thought that would be a nice one. With only three more days to go and a full agenda, last night seemed to be the right moment to seek and buy one. Therefore I headed out with my dad to the Media Markt in order to find myself one that actually works good. Continue reading

Birthday mom part II

11949867001754692741balloons_01.svg.medAs I mentioned in Wednesday’s blog about my mother’s birthday, the other half of the family would come today. Friday. This time it was my father’s family’s turn to show up at our doorstep. It was almost four months ago since I saw them last time and some I had not seen for at least a year. Somehow they don’t have a real strong bond with my parents, my brother or I. Still, it was nice to see them again anyway. Continue reading

Birthday mom

animaatjes-happy_birthday-78959A couple of days ago I wrote about the horror I had to put myself true in order to get my mother a birthday present. Today finally was the day to present her with the little gifts we bought for her. Always a nerve wrecking moment, because I didn’t really stick with just the wish list she presented to us. So I was really curious to find out whether or not she would like the present that did not come of her initial list. Surprise mom! Continue reading

Grandmothers’ grand birthday

Yesterday my grandmother had her 81st birthday. When you come to think of it, that’s quite an impressive age and I feel lucky to still have her in my life. When one reaches such an impressive age, I believe that every birthday should be special in some way. It makes you more aware that she might be gone soon. So therefore I wanted to give her something special. A memory and moment we could both enjoy and remember. Continue reading
